Innovcable Mobile Cable Application Guide: How to Choose the Right Product
INNOVCABLE MOVABLE CABLE GUIDE

At Innovcable, we understand that the performance and lifespan of a mobile cable depend directly on its correct application. To simplify the selection process, we have developed a visual guide that associates our product families with the most common systems in the industry.

This guide uses a simple color code:

  • Red Square: Indicates the Main Application for which the cable was designed and optimized, ensuring maximum performance and durability.
  • Blue Square: It indicates that the cable is Appropriate for the application, functioning as a viable and high-performing solution.
  • □ White Square: It indicates that the use Not Applicable It is not recommended, as the cable's characteristics are not compatible with the system's requirements.

We will detail each application and the recommended cables.

Understanding the Applications (Table Columns)

  1. Festoon Systems (Festoons): These are systems where cables are suspended in loops (forming an "accordion" or "curtain") and move on rails. Common in overhead cranes and gantry cranes, they require cables with high flexibility and resistance to torsion to avoid the "corkscrew" effect.
  2. Cable Carrier Trays (Installed in Channels): Also known as "energy chains," these are articulated guides that protect and guide cables in linear, circular, or multi-axis movements. Their application is demanding, requiring cables with very high resistance to bending cycles, abrasion, and often, oils and chemicals.
  3. Cable Reels (Vertical Cables / Baskets): These refer to systems with motorized (or spring-driven) reels or drums that wind and unwind the cables. They require cables with high tensile strength (due to their own weight and winding force) and a robust construction that can withstand the torsional stresses inherent in the process.
  4. Systems with Pulleys and Button Pendants: Applications where the cable is guided by pulleys or used in suspended control buttons. The main requirement is flexibility and, in the case of pendants, the presence of support elements to avoid stress on the electrical conductors.

Analysis of Innovcable Cable Families (Table Rows)

Now, let's analyze which cable best suits each need:

1. REELFLEX (SMK) (N) SHTOU-J

  • Main Application (Red): Vertical cable reels. Their structure is designed to withstand the mechanical stress of continuous winding, offering excellent durability in this scenario.
  • Suitable for (Blue): Festoon systems. Although not their primary function, their flexibility makes them a viable option for less complex festoons.

2. MOVFLEX Family

  • Main Application (Red): Cable Carriers. The MOVFLEX line is our universal, high-performance cable carrier solution. Designed to withstand millions of bending cycles, it's the ideal choice for industrial automation, machining centers, and robotics.

3. CE FLAT NGFLGOU (Flat Cables)

  • Main Application (Red): Festoon Systems and Cable Carriers. The flat design is ideal for stacking in confined spaces, making it perfect for festoon cable carriers and some specific carriers. It allows for a much smaller bending radius on one of the axes.

4. REELFLEX (K)NSHTOU-J (N)SHTOU-J

  • Main Application (Red): Reel systems (vertical and basket) and pulley-guided systems. It is a highly robust cable, developed for the most severe winding conditions, such as in mining and ports.
  • Suitable for (Blue): Cable Carriers and Button Pendants. Its reinforced construction makes it suitable for heavy-duty cable carriers and push-button systems that require extra durability.

5. REELFLEX PUR HF / FESTOONCABLE C-PUR-HF

  • Main Application (Red): Cable management systems, reels (vertical and basket) and button pendants. This is our premium line. The polyurethane (PUR) coating offers maximum resistance to abrasion, oils and chemicals, while the "HF" (Halogen Free) rating makes it ideal for environments with high safety requirements.
  • Suitable for (Blue): Festoon systems. It is an excellent option for festoons in harsh environments.

6. FESTOONCABLE (N)GRDGCGOU

  • Main Application (Red): Festoon systems, button pendants and basket winders. As the name suggests, this is the family specially designed for festoon systems. Its construction ensures stable, twist-free movement and a long service life. It is also the ideal choice for control pushbuttons.
  • Suitable for (Blue): Cable Carrier Tracks. Can be used on conveyor belts, especially in lower speed or less complex applications.
